Brewers blast their way to series win over Pirates

With a getaway day lineup in place, the Brewers looked to finish up their homestand with another series win. It took a few innings, but the Brewers bats got hot and they put up 10 runs, including five home runs, in a 10-2 rout of the Pirates.

The game began with both starting pitchers putting up a couple of scoreless innings. Robert Gasser allowed three singles in his first two innings, but kept the Pirates from scoring. Meanwhile, Martin Perez allowed one hit but also kept the Brewers off the board. The Pirates got on the board first in the third, using two more singles and a sacrifice fly from Connor Joe to get an early 1-0 lead.
